envelope liners (part 1)

Its Victoria Day long weekend!
I’m a little late with my April birthday cards so I thought I’d use the long weekend to catch up. Except, instead of designing and making birthday cards, I made envelope liners! I’m a big fan of the colours pink and purple which traditionally are more feminine colours. So when it comes to making masculine cards, I tend to procrastinate a little.

inspired to build.

have you heard of these planks?
they’re called keva planks and given the right music playing in the background you will be lost in your world of creativity!

I spent two hours building various structures today.
At first, I was a little skeptical of what I could build. But after a glance at the project inspiration sheet and with the help of Mozart’s symphony, I built this: (see photo below; sorry for the fuzzy photos…they’re from my iTouch)

What do you think?

I’ve been going through my travel photos lately.

This picture was taken on our mini trip to Seattle…on our drive home, we saw this (as an odd shapes enthusiast) and I fell in love! Since there were lots of traffic behind us, we couldn’t stop the car right away. Luckily we found a parking space not too far from the library and I was able to snap this!

Vancouver Sun Run 2013

We did it!
A and I half walked, half ran the Vancouver Sun Run!!!

We did it without training! But we were so sore afterwards!
It’s been three days and I’m still in pain!!!

We’ve decided to make it a tradition and participate every year. Obviously with the goal of beating our previous year’s time! :D If we stick to our weekly gym sessions, we should be able to beat this year’s time without trouble!

Can’t wait!

Hiii!

It’s me again and today, I’d like to share with you my newest purchase! Well, kind’ve…I actually bought it about two weeks ago, but didn’t get a chance to blog about it.

This darling little dress is from H&M Girls. Usually I can’t buy dresses in North America since I’m significantly smaller than the norm, but this dress fits wonderfully! And, it’s got the perfect flounce to itI had some contemplations on whether to get a smaller snug dress or a looser one (though there was barely a difference, as I’m told by several friends). In the end, I settled for the looser one.

I’m currently trying to decide what I should wear with it! I tried it on with opaque black tights and boots. Although that pairing looked nice, it’s not appropriate for spring-summer!

What would you wear with this dress?

When I showed A this picture, this is what he said:
“WOW! It’s so fat!” - personally I’m a big fan of chubby things…
especially pets and cartoon characters!
(Hence the obsession with Totoro)

Was he what you were expecting to see?

in the classroom: decorating the little things

As May approaches, we’re starting to wrap up our Science Club.
I’ve been wanting to use these smiley face stickers all semester!
Since we have different guest scientists every week, I like to give my students name tags so they can be referred to by their name. Usually I have a different theme each week. Below is what Valentines Day name tags looked like!

It always surprises how little things like decorating name tags can make me so happy and excited to be in the classroom!

How do you like to decorate your classroom?

Hiii!

What do you have planned for this weekend?
I’m writing my last final tomorrow, and then participating in the Vancouver Sun Run (on Sunday)! It’s such a nice feeling to take a break from school. I always find that it helps me recharge for the next semester!

And, since the semester’s over, I can finally hang out with my friends! I’m quite excited to hear their response-feedback when they see this invitation!
